{"id":16795,"date":"2026-09-03T17:36:51","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/turkeynews24.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/03\/aggressive-aer-lingus-passenger-required-7-people-to-restrain-him-aboard-nightmare-flight-from-dublin-to-seattle-feds-say\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T17:36:51","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:36:51","slug":"aggressive-aer-lingus-passenger-required-7-people-to-restrain-him-aboard-nightmare-flight-from-dublin-to-seattle-feds-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/turkeynews24.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/03\/aggressive-aer-lingus-passenger-required-7-people-to-restrain-him-aboard-nightmare-flight-from-dublin-to-seattle-feds-say\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Aggressive\u2019 Aer Lingus passenger required 7 people to restrain him aboard nightmare flight from Dublin to Seattle, feds say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/travel\/news-and-advice\/united-airlines-passenger-drunk-maine-b2509459.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">intoxicated traveler<\/a> flying from Dublin to Seattle needed more than half a dozen people to immobilize him after he tried to force pills into a stranger\u2019s mouth, \u201cviolently\u201d shook another passenger\u2019s seat, and \u201caggressively\u201d wrapped his arms around a flight attendant before threatening to \u201cf*** [her] up,\u201d according to a criminal complaint unsealed Monday. <\/p>\n<p>While the plane was over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/bulletin\/news\/greenland-trump-tom-dans-red-lobster-b3000820.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Greenland<\/a> or Canada, James Bradley Noble required \u201capproximately seven flight attendants\u2026 to restrain [him] with handcuffs and straps on the seat,\u201d the complaint states. \u201cDuring the restraint process, Noble resisted and was described as flailing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once Noble had been subdued, he soon \u201cbegan to violently resist his restraints to the point that the restraints began to fail,\u201d the complaint goes on. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis lasted for about two hours,\u201d it says.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle police arrested Noble when the flight finally touched down at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/seattle-chinese-china-seattletacoma-international-airport-san-francisco-b2959384.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle-Tacoma International Airport<\/a>. The investigation was then handed over to the FBI, which has jurisdiction over crimes committed aboard commercial aircraft traveling to the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Aer Lingus, and Noble\u2019s public defender, Colleen Fitzharris, did not immediately respond on Tuesday to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.independent.co.uk\/2026\/06\/23\/14\/57\/GettyImages-1986208417.jpeg\" alt=\"An Aer Lingus flight descended into chaos after a disruptive passenger required more than half a dozen people to restrain him\"\/>open image in gallery<figcaption>An Aer Lingus flight descended into chaos after a disruptive passenger required more than half a dozen people to restrain him (AFP via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On June 19, Noble boarded Aer Lingus flight EI53 in Dublin, and took his seat in row 14, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/28310683-usa-v-james-bradley-noble\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">complaint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The woman sitting next to Noble \u201chad noticed at some point during the flight that [his] behavior had changed after drinking beverages assumed to be alcohol,\u201d the complaint continues. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNoble exhibited behavior described as being intoxicated, stumbling and being disruptive,\u201d the complaint alleges. \u201cNoble then began exhibiting harassing behavior towards [his seatmate].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when Noble \u201cbegan gesturing to force pills into her mouth, followed by physical gestures resembling a closed fist,\u201d according to the complaint. He then spilled soda on the woman, who reported the goings-on to the flight crew, which moved her to business class to get away from Noble, the complaint states.<\/p>\n<p>A passenger sitting across the aisle from Noble told cops she saw him take a pill, after which she herself fell asleep for about 30 minutes, the complaint says. When she woke up, the passenger noticed that Noble had put a bottle of wine on her seat, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Roughly halfway through the 10-hour journey, Noble approached a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/asia\/southeast-asia\/singapore-airlines-assault-indian-jailed-b3001028.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">flight attendant<\/a> working the mid-galley area \u201cfrom behind, then aggressively wrapped his arms around [her], holding [her] from behind,\u201d the complaint alleges. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.independent.co.uk\/2026\/06\/23\/14\/54\/GettyImages-85371944.jpeg\" alt=\"At one point, suspect James Bradley Noble allegedly grabbed a flight attendant and &#039;aggressively&#039; wrapped his arms around her, before threatening to &#039;f*** [her] up,&#039; according to the feds (AFP via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It says the supervising flight attendant told Noble that what he was doing was \u201cinappropriate,\u201d as the first flight attendant escorted Noble back to his seat and \u201cheld [him] down\u2026 from the row behind\u2026 for approximately twenty minutes,\u201d the complaint states. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring this time[,] Noble shook a seat in the row in front of him violently, resulting in the flight crew also moving those passengers elsewhere,\u201d according to the complaint. \u201cNoble then stated to [the flight attendant holding his shoulders], \u2018I\u2019m going to f*** you up.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This, the complaint contends, was seen as a \u201ccredible threat,\u201d and the cabin crew notified the cockpit about Noble\u2019s \u201cescalating behavior\u201d before moving the passengers around Noble to other seats so he could be restrained for the remainder of the trip. <\/p>\n<p>He finally calmed down about 60 to 90 minutes before landing, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to Noble\u2019s behavior, cabin service was ceased and flight attendants were unable to perform their primary duties or take necessary breaks,\u201d the complaint states.<\/p>\n<p>Upon landing, Noble was arrested and charged the following day with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/49\/46504\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">interference with flight crew members and attendants<\/a>, a federal crime carrying up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Noble appeared in court on Monday, and was ordered detained.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.independent.co.uk\/2026\/06\/23\/14\/07\/GettyImages-2220804892.jpeg\" alt=\"James Bradley Noble was flying from Dublin to Seattle when he allegedly became disruptive and needed to be strapped down to his seat, court filings say\"\/>open image in gallery<figcaption>James Bradley Noble was flying from Dublin to Seattle when he allegedly became disruptive and needed to be strapped down to his seat, court filings say (AFP via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Sunday, an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Philadelphia devolved into bedlam when an unidentified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/chaos-erupts-american-airlines-flight-unruly-passenger-allegedly-bites-fellow-traveler-midair\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">passenger allegedly bit another traveler<\/a> and tried to fight various others, prompting a police response upon touching down.<\/p>\n<p>In May, a woman exhibiting \u201cerratic and emotionally unbalanced behavior\u201d aboard an American flight from Palm Beach to Charlotte was arrested and charged after allegedly attacking an 82-year-old man sitting next to her, resulting in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/american-airlines-assault-lawsuit-b2971664.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">injuries to his head and brain<\/a>,\u201d according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Dennis Wally Woodbury, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/fbi-san-francisco-los-angeles-woodbury-california-b2744052.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">former California Highway Patrol captain<\/a> was indicted for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/crime\/jetblue-drunk-passenger-indecent-exposure-arrested-b2740429.html\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">slapping a male flight attendant\u2019s buttocks<\/a> and exposing himself after drinking an entire bottle of prosecco aboard a JetBlue flight from Florida to California. <\/p>\n<p>There have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/unruly\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">754 unruly passenger reports<\/a> referred to the Federal Aviation Administration so far in 2026; an all-time high was set in 2021, with 5,973 referrals.
